Show Preview: THEORY OF A DEADMAN, SHAMAN’S HARVEST, ARANDA, ARTIFAS – Juanita’s (10.11.15)
Juanita’s Brings All of the Rock
Sunday, October 11th is going to be a LOUD night at Juanita’s!
Theory of a Deadman, Shaman’s Harvest, Aranda, and Artifas will be on deck to spice up your Sunday.
The last time I saw Theory was at Edgefest, if that gives you an indication of how long it’s been. (It was 2011!)
[Moment of silence for Edgefest. You were my favorite day of the year. RIP.]
So I’m looking forward to that. Not looking forward to “Bitch Came Back,” if that finds its way onto the setlist. I know it’s supposed to be a *nudge nudge, wink wink* ode to everything man caves and bacon, but it still instantly sets my teeth on edge. …And it’s catchy. I love “Hurricane”… How ’bout you sneak that one in there, guys?
Shaman’s Harvest has been through Little Rock earlier in the year, and they really have a strong stage presence. I’m not sure where they are in their search for a new drummer, but everything else has been rock solid at each show. I don’t know how you could’ve missed “Dirty Diana” on the radio (satellite or commercial); that one did really well for them, as did “Dangerous,” off of their latest album.
I may have previously mentioned that I’m a big fan of Aranda. When they were here in August, Gabe Aranda handled all of the singing duties; brother Dameon was under doctor’s orders not to sing for several weeks. It’s my understanding that Dameon’s been given the okay to sing, so I’m jazzed about that.
Singers: Take care of your voices. …Especially if you’re the strong-belter type of vocalist. [Yes, Dameon, I’m looking at you. *waves* Hi!]
I’ve blown my voice out, trying to hit that howl in the middle of “Satisfied”; if I did that every night? My cockatiel might peck out my vocal cords in my sleep.
I don’t sleep.
You get nothing but straight-up honesty from me. That said, I have not heard anything by Artifas. I have, however, been seeing the name floating around social media more and more frequently. Bzz, bzz! Definitely looking forward to checking out their set.
So, it’s gonna be a big night at Juanita’s. You stragglers who show up for the headliner? Stop that! You’re missing out on what could become your new favorite band. Save the “Netflix and chill” until later. Show up early and show your support for live music in Little Rock.
Tickets: $30 | Doors at 7pm, Show at 8pm. See you there!
